January 2024 update

Dear West River United Church family,

As we enter the new year, I'm excited to inform you that, alongside our regular events, we have a series of special activities planned for 2024. These events, from Evangelism Month in January to Advent and Christmas celebrations.

I cannot stress enough the importance of each of you in making these events successful. Whether you are home-bound or actively outgoing, whether you are a child, a youth, or an adult, your presence, participation, and contributions make our church community vibrant and inclusive. We are committed to ensuring that all members, regardless of their circumstances, can be involved in and benefit from our church life.

Let's make 2024 a year of inclusivity, connection and spiritual growth.

1. Theme: "Embracing the Liturgy"

2. Activities: Exploring divine worship, Gospel proclamation and active charity.

2. Feb 3: Launch of Youth Group - A vibrant gathering for young members to connect, explore faith and engage in community service and fun activities. 🌟🦋

2. Sep 22/23: Autumnal Equinox Observation

3. Special Event: Kairos Blanket Exercise for National Day of Truth and Reconciliation

🍁 October: Thanksgiving & Spiritual Wellness

1. Theme: "Gratitude as a Spiritual Practice"

2. New Launch: Spiritual Centre – Center for Contemplative Practice

3. Activities: Meditation, yoga, study, prayer and exploring spiritual practices
